About Church Membership

The Lord tells us in Matthew 9:38 to ask God to send forth laborers into the field of harvest. Therefore, we are praying. When someone declares that God is leading him/her to be a member of MBBC, we rejoice for both the answered prayer and for those obeying God.

We value every member of our church because I Corinthians 12:18 makes it clear that,

“…God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.”

And Acts 2:47 explains that,

“…the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

Many choose a church home for the building, the pastor, the music, and a variety of other reasons. But the Biblical reason to be a member of a church is that it is God’s plan for YOU. God knows which church is best suited for you personally, both to participate in and to benefit from.

God expects every Christian to be a member of a local church body of believers in order to fulfill His Great Commission, which includes baptism (Matthew 28:19-20). Baptism is the prerequisite that God requires after you are saved and before He will add you to His church. We are glad that you want to do God’s work God’s way. The right way is always the best way.
